somewhere ova da rainbow....
Brother Sekhemu , I have to read more but the reply you gave in the hurricane thread just caught my attention...Below I found this link in reference to a reply you made....is this the right track?

Brother SAMURAI36, I would like your thoughts as well

Oyá

Oyá is the ruler of the winds, the whirlwind and the gates of the cemetery. Her number is nine which recalls her title of Yansa or "Mother of Nine" in which she rules over the egun or dead. She is also known for the colors of maroon, flowery patterns and nine different colors. She is a fierce warrior who rides to war with Shangó (sharing lightning and fire with him) and was once the wife of Ogún

Then I found this information: on Oracle of Ifa
F-su (Messenger Deity), Ogun (Deity of Iroh), Obatala (Deity of Purity, or Mental Clarity), Sopona (Deity of Smallpox), Orisaoko (Deity of Agriculture), Yemoja (Deity of Salt Water, or River), Songo (Deity of Thunder and Lightning), Oya (Deity of Winds), Olokun (Deity of the Oceans or Seas), and Osun (Deity of Sweet Rivers).

You are definately on the right track sister, however I would like to add that the Orisha Sopona, known as the Orixa Omolu in Candomble, is thought to be the orisha who presides of AIDS, and other infectious diseases. As you probably know, Brazil has been decimated by AIDS and other STD's, and many initiates and non-initiates have sought the intervention of Omolu for cures
