    Inside I ache
    From all the past hurts
    From all the past taunts
I ache, from the voice that seemed so curt.

    But I forgive you

For all the birthdays you forgot
For all the calls not made
For all the cards and flowers I never got
    Outside the bruises
    Have faded with time
    But my spirit still feels
    The effects of pain sublime

    But I forgive you

    For the hurtful words said
When I sit and listen to
    The voices inside my head
    That tell me
    I should let you go
Turn my back and walk away
But they don’t know the things I know
    Your capacity to love
    Overwhelms your compulsion to hit
How your words so melodous and sweet
I know we can still be that perfect fit
    They say Love is blind
    I think that it’s deaf
    How else could you explain
    The forgivness of a woman
