~something on human mercy and love I wish for us all, that only comes from ABOVE~

    she stood before him
    de-cloaked, disrobed,
    her soul laid bare

and as his eyes adjusted ~
    the 'light',
    became the dagger
    that pierced his heart
(the pain of truth is without mercy)

    she stood before him
    not without remorse
but aware she had no recourse
    should he seek to retaliate
(torn emotions are often void of rational thought)

    but as his eyes lifted
    toward heaven
his lips whispered a silent prayer

and his arms reached out to hold her
    again...

    Ms A

I remember this piece, a favorite... for how can we expect God to forgive us, if we are unwilling to forgive each other?

    I See This

    Alyce,

As you well know, different people see different things when reading poetry. I enjoyed the read on this poem, because of the depth of forgiveness in it. What did I see???

Here stands a woman who committed adultery. Being remorseful, she now seeks total cosummation with her husband as she awaits his response...He prays and ask God to help him forgive her...He chooses to forgive...As they are joined together, they become one...again.
