Forget You Were A "G" part II
    by Monad.poetress

Slowly you wipe away all of my tears
I've been with my G now for five long years
All the late nights bother me some
But I know my man's heart and where he's coming from
Three trips to jail and I'm still in love with you
    And slowly I realize you're a "G" its true
I've tried to pretend you don't gang bang in the street
But every night when you come home I watch you pack away your heat
I see you counting money I know you can't account for
I plan the get a way when them folks knock on the door

    Laying in a hotel room
the bounty hunters are looking for you
I stare blankly at the TV not knowing what to do
    You bought us hot wings
    and Boone Farms to drink
    But I know I can't eat....hell I can't think
I never been on the run
    I ain't did ****
I guess its just the company of the man I'm wit

Slowly my tears soak into your shirt
You know how I cry, you know how I hurt
Six months ago you said you was gone lay down your G
Six months done passed and you still ain't set it free
I saw you cry the other day because you know I liked my job
But I had to leave it the press was like a mob
Being with you has stained my life
Now you propose and ask me as your wife
And with a doubt I quickly say yes
Even though you got me caught up in all of this mess

You said its been eight years of being a G
and when it becomes ten you'll become an OG
    No more late nights
    No calls from the jail
You said our money will be straight everything will be swell
But what do I do until that time comes
Keep stacking away your money in large lump sums
Keep telling my mom you work for construction
Knowing our lives are heading for complete destruction

    I don't know
But I do plan to stay
Cause no other man can love me this way
No other man can hold me the way you do
No other man can add up to you
So never will I set your heart free
But maybe, just maybe you'll forget you were a "G"

    This is tight...well said...well said.

Your entire life was changed...because he couldn't see the light. And you will have more surprises...uhhh ruhhh....I should say disappointments when you find out the money will run out fast. Solution: He'll go back to being a G. smh It doesn't look good, lil lady. It just doesn't look good...especially, if you ever get that phone call or that no return feeling. That's the worst.

    :thanks: for sharing.
