    Emerging from shadows

I stand in the daylight of hope

    Burning my retinas

    Content, within the stillness

    Grateful for being alive.

there is something about this poem, abstract219, that draws me back to it several times a day. it's as if it invites me to sit inside it on a curb and drink it all in. its simplicity and sentimentality are so exquisite i can't help but take it up on its invitation. nicely done. thank you for writing this piece.
