Nancy, Nancy say it ain't so
Say that wasn't you on that silly TV show
Say it was some unknown actress
Looking and sounding just like you
    A part on a neegro-stereotype sit-com
Is something I know you would never do

    You are too fine
    Too talented
    Too classy...
    An international star...
    Dignity amoung the many things
That have made you who and what you are

    It can't be the money
    This show is on UPN
For one who has entertained Kings and Queens
This can't be how your career will end

I couldn't turn off the TV fast enough
No way would I watch you
    Performing this way
I rushed to the room where music lives
    Sadly I listened to
    "Guess Who I saw Today"

    Oh BE!

you know, I felt this flow coming on....
my heart sank when I heard the news

I wonder what manner of drug or disease has overtaken our premier ladies of song? I thought about Dionne, whose voice sang my lullabyes when I was young. No one like her in concert...the woman would electrify an audience! And then she began using her voice for her psychic friends.... a whole generation will never appreciate her magnificent talent and how she can flow...

Now, "The Fancy Miss Nancy"....have mercy on us all! The sultry songstress, now a sit-com queen? This is an outrage to me. I don't even watch "The Parkers" on TV. What's going on...what's really happening? Can you use your journalistic skills to get the inside scoop, BE?

(I shudder to think of who will fall, next.... and the likes of Ella and Sarah, and Lady Day are turning over in their graves!)

Thank goodness for CD's, cassette tapes, and the antiquated wax. I'll just close my eyes and reminisce.

    **** shame
