Joyce, we must have been on the same page lately,
I wrote this poem thinking of yesteryears and I would like to dedicate it you.........for your birthday....

    Autumn Of My Life

In the autumn of my life
    content in my wisdom
I look back in my summer years
    contemplating change that
    brought me here
would I do some things different
would I transform whom I've become
would my life have new meaning
If I could go back and eliminate
    various outcomes
    and even farther still
    in my solstice spring
    the innocence of
    my youth
    when time was no matter
    approaching adulthood
I hasten to quicken the route
in all these years of times past
    I've grown in many ways
    every experience
    every lesson
has made me who I am
so in the autumn of my life
    I don't regret what I haven't done
but I rejoice in what I have
and what is yet to come

    Dear Sister,

I agree, this is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTFUL. It does seem as if Joyce throws her work right out at you, just when you need it.:)

It puts me in the mind of looking through family photos, remembering and smiling at all the wonderful times in our lives.....and you know the suitcase full of photos Dad and Mom has. I'm still trying to steal some

    Love you:love:

    Epiphany

You have pondered the trails of my life and come forth a light of hope, thru this poem. As I was reading, I soul was quietly saying...yes, yes and yes. Tears burned my eyes but I would not let them fall become of my daughter who was in my presence at the time of my reading.

Thank you so much. I have been fighting the what ifs the coulda woulda's off and on for also most 2 years, concerning my children and other things.
I was soaked in attitudes of I wish I had or hadn't made this or that decision. It's poems like this that help me and others like me to go on to a higher level in Christ...life more abundantly.

    Thank You So Much.

    Thanx Alice.....

Alice, the beauty of people is we inadvertantly are connected,
through every experience, we share a piece of ourselves. In poetry
it is special, because without the physical connection. There will always remain
the emotional. Thank you for the read and I'm happy my words blessed you in
    wee hours of the morning

Rich, I always appreciate your kind words, I hope it will touch her,
the way it has touched me......

Sister Dear, lol.....yes I remember that suitcase...but unless your a shapeshifter or a locksmith
that case will always be offlimits, its a legacy. As we get older, we look back at the shoulda, woulda, coulda
and no matter how hard we try. It will only be whats important where we are now, how far we have come and to appreciate
where will go from here. Thanks sis, you know we are one in mind and spirit.

Joyce, I think the older we get, the more we think of our mortality
and what path our lives have taken. I have thought about it,
when I lost my best friend when I was 28. When I turn 40, the thoughts
became more prevalent. For me, I can only contribute it to self discovery.
There are points in our lives that we come to a fork in the road, spiritually
as well as personally especially if God has at one time or another been a intricate part of our life.
We struggle with the death of people we care about, and the possibilites of the unknown.
That reminds us how vulnerable we are. I personally feel though, (I'm sure
I will experience these feelings again), God reminds me to be thankful, for what I have, for having
the gift to share and receive blessings. To be willing to listen and learn from people
I least expect or maybe others may not take so seriously. We all are place here to have
some impact on someone's life, as well as our own.
So I may sometimes look at what I may think are my inadequacies, but I also know that in most
things in my life I have done very well. If we are listening, really listening to that inner
voice, that spiritual voice then we are on the way to a higher plane. We may get
a few bumps and bruises getting there, but with vigilance and prayer we will do it.
I'm very happy you like the poem, in writing it...it brought me peace.
