    ramblings from the hope chest

    "Lonely" and "alone"
    are not synonymous
    in my experience

one can be a state of mind..
the other, a state of being

loneliness often gives way to depression
    it's this dark, gaping void
that seems to grow wider and deeper
    is it imagined? well....
    or is it real? ok
the mind is a complex organ...and perception
becomes our reality....so who am I to
    truly say...

    but...
    being alone is a choice

and the way I see it
    living without emotional clutter
    is a positive thing

    People rarely enjoy their
    solitude…we’re trained
    almost from birth
    to receive our stimulation
    from the OUTSIDE

    we think we shrink as
    individuals because no one
    else is there,
    breathing our air

    when the opposite could be
    true ~ we would grow
    become introspective and
    therefore, KNOW
what it is we really need
    and just who the hell
    we really be…

    unencumbered by outside
    opinions, folks getting their
    feelings hurt…trivial issues
    and countless ‘misunderstandings’

    I'm not hatin on companionship...
I love me some social intercourse...
    of course...

    but...

    "lonely" is a sneaky thing

    we can find ourselves in
    a crowded room
    and feel so empty

    or

    worse

    like, waking up every morning
    instantly feeling that yoke
we placed around our own necks
    the worst kind of bondage

    wishing we were alone
    (y'all don't heah me)

    loneliness is
    all consuming ~ devil's playground...

    peace dangles just outside
our grasp; happiness is a stranger
    joy never had a chance
cuz hormones & pheromones took hold of our
    better judgment and our vision
    distorted, our emotions twisted
    the description to fit the
    circumstances
    ...
    (turn that around, same difference)

    and need/greed was badly mis-shapened,
    sadly mis-taken

    for

    love

    i'm listening...

    ...and as i walked around...
    drove around wondering if it
    were me...placing myself in a
    box...NOT be touched...
this prose is deeply felt and
    i identify...

    ****, ain't that so true!
    choked, yet reviving...

    in a mood~
