Black Poetry : Food for Thought

[Amun-Ra]

I don’t care for pig ears,
pig knuckles or pig’s feet
don’t want no tripe or headcheese
put out for this man to eat.

Can’t stand no kidney or gizzards
or rooster knees with black-eyed peas
but one thing I’d like to have and
that’s a chittlin’ sandwich—if you please.

see Ra...here's where we hav'ta part paths. coz i can eat up some pig's feet...give a brutha some gizzards...and, though it's been a while, i can go for some black-eyed peas as well. as for that chittlin' sandwich...well, i don't know. but, hey, flava is flava. pass it on ova hea.
