The taste, The attraction, That fed my desire, To complete satisfaction, That made my taste buds dance, On the surface of my tongue, A sensation they hadn’t felt in so long. The very thought made my mouth water, And I had to reel myself from the iniquity of lust. All of that wanting, that urge would creep up on me, Like a collection of dust. But now I’m encountering that taste, And it’sss……..rancid. Something that was once smooth as silk, Now resembles curdling milk. All desires now subside, After the revelation of that which, You thought you could hide. Time, energy, attraction, Gone to waste. I guess I just didn’t have, That ‘required acquired’ taste.
