    wide eyed maidens beckon
    spoken dead reckoning
    yesteryear
the query as to why was answered
    with future memory
    while stakes stick ground confusion
    a "we" echoed in unison
    who me?
    yeah cause its okay today
    qualifications fit application
to stand next to smiling hoods
where white wants to wrap me in red and blue
mediatic promoted statue of hypocritic liberty
cause a cherry bomb fell into the wrong yard
    so they say
    speaking conversation on first days
tinged with fear that absolves my foe ridden features
a new creature for sandbox melodies
presented with a u.s.a letterman jacket
i've been in enough quarters to receive honorable mention
    lets all play together
forget our past but remember that day
    you know people died?
    i know
thats why i can't forget my ancestors cries
as the whys come from curled lips
    telling of mysteries long ago
why won't you just let that go?
    cause for generation upon generation
we were the world trade center
and when racism crashed into our towers
there was no one to clean up the rubble
no ceremonies held in our honor
no money taken up to support our families
i won't feel ashamed for saying what is true
now you want me flag waving to assist you?
    rrrrrrrrrrrright...

HAHAHAHA (All irony and sarcasm included) This poem was so on point it should pierce the mind of the dullest thinker. These **** shows of blind patriotism sicken me as well. How easy it is for our people to ignore their own circumstances and history of pain and injustice. It's like if White America has a cold we sneeze, and for once in our lives we need to realize their battle is not our own! I am sad 5,000 people had to pay for this government's foolishness with their lives, but the fight is not ours. Ain't nobody crying for 400 years of brutality and terrorism against us! I could hold forth on this topic for paragraphs, but I will say this piece is strong, solid, powerful and thought provoking. Well written indeed!

thanx ya'll...my head is bowed to those lost on that day, but while they are talking sept.11, i'm talking 1619 to 1865...then 1865 to 1968. they keep telling me "we should never forget"...and i'm like "thats right, and i won't"...

    Speak Truth!

My Pastor discussed this very topic with me today during mid week prayer service after doing our usual Praise and Worship, not because it was 9/11 , but because that's what Black folks do.
When questioned by the white media about the lack of empathy or perceived lack of empathy about those lost on 9/11 and terrorist attacks...My pastor a renowned and learned man spoke openly of the Opression and Terroristic threats that still hang over black folks everywhere....And simply stated, we surely empathize...but we have also been victimized!!!!!!
Where is our memorial? Where is our financial reperation!
Whewwwwwwwwwwww! You went so deep you took me there ...Sorry! What I meant to say before I overstayed my welcome!
    BLESSINGS ON YA HOUSE!
