    into inexperienced arms
    you came, not silently
    beautiful, robust
    yes, my bouncing
    baby boy

    nights were long
    up and down with you
    coddling, cajoling,
    consoling

    always carrying
    caring, always

    I learned with you
    and saw much of myself
    as you grew
    we taught each other
    the things of manhood

    You took my hand
    and led me to maturity

    of necessity
    the boy in you
    helped evolve the man
    in me

    Questions, questions,
oh so many times I had no
    answers

    Love? Women?
    Oh my son, the headache
    of those long discussions

But I saw you trust your
    heart in love
    ~my son,
    so much like me

    My hope is
    my laughter
    and peace

    is our legacy

    this piece is deeply felt...

would that we all, as fathers, pass on our peace to our sons, and our sons sons....

    Love is our birthright!

    it's wonderful...

...how our children teach us to be parents--when we're open to their needs. having three sons--NOW MEN--i understand the transformation that takes place WITHIN as they grow from child to man and all that happens in between.

    thanks for sharing

and never forget to appreciate your inheritance...your junior you.:)

    peace.
