After three season as head football coach of NotreDame
Tyrone Ty Willingham was fired with a three season record of 21 - 15
he was to be a promising good black coach , from History of the school
in three years how other coaches fair out Lou Holtz was 25 - 10 coach
for 11 years Gerry Faust 18 - 15 coach for over 6 years and this go on
he was the shortest of all and was fired his replacement and top candidate
is UTAH'S Urban Meyers.....................................................................
AFRICAN AMERICAN COACHES
THE COALITION question whether Ty got a fair shake
many players feel he didn't Sylvester Croom of Mississippi st. and Karl Dorrell
of UCLA are the last two from 8 black coaches in the I-A division
Hill stated african American should and deserved a fair shake and the
opportunity to succeed or fail like every other coach the coalition looking
into the matter to see if his firing was race related Notre Dame say he was
released because they didn't win enough football games but Willingham
was question from the start of hired and was fired without allowing him
the same chance as other coaches that had failed at Notre Dame
do you think he was treated fair and given time to turn this football
program around he had a 2002 great season only 3 none winning games.
I believe he was wrongly fired without a chance to blossome.
