While thinking about how we sometimes find ourselves giving more than we receive, I was inspired to write this poem.
FINDING LOVE
Finding Love means finding someone who compliments yourself.
Finding love means finding someone who enhances your mental health.
Finding love means feeling free to demand respect.
Finding love means finding someone who respects not only you, but everyone who is special to you.
Finding love means feeling free to navigate your own life.
Finding love means finding someone who is not expecting you to conform to his/her way of life.
Finding love is not defined as a here today gone tomorrow fling.
Finding love does not mean you have to settle for the first person who comes along and says, "I love you."
Finding love does not mean cultivating a relationship with someone who's unavailable to you.
Finding love does not mean clinging to someone who's blase' about committing to you.
Finding love does not mean you are to carry all the burdens. Whew!
Finding love means sharing a fifty-fifty effort in making the relationship successful.
Finding love means you both share zero tolerance for abuse. Finding love means finding someone who is just as serious about committing to a long term relationship as you.
Finding love means you're able to sit down and talk about why the
relationship isn't working out without worrying about someone giving up and walking out on you...
Finding love is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Finding love means you must first find yourself and love yourself.
Finding love means loving yourself enough to recognize when enough is enough!
