    The second swearing in....
President Obama took the oath of office a second time Wednesday night during a private ceremony at the White House one day after the flubbing of the oath on Inauguration Day.

Chief Justice John Roberts made a secret trip to the White House and, wearing his robe, readministered the oath to Mr. Obama.

Twelve people were in the room, including the president. From the White House staff: White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, White House Counsel Greg Craig, senior adviser David Axelrod, and the official White House photographer Pete Souza. Katie Lillie, an advance staffer who assists the press, also was present with a small pool of reporters from the St. Petersberg Times, Bloomberg, the Associated Press and Reuters.

Mr. Gibbs told the small pool of reporters this was done to be cautious since there was "one word out of sequence" on Tuesday.

"Are you ready to take the oath?" Mr. Roberts asked.

"I am and we are going to do it very slowly," Mr. Obama replied.

It happened at 7:35 p.m., with no mistakes, and took 25 seconds.

    Mr. Roberts said, "Congratulations, again."

Mr. Craig issued a statement a few minutes later.

"We believe that the oath of office was administered effectively and that the President was sworn in appropriately yesterday. But the oath appears in the Constitution itself. And out of an abundance of caution, because there was one word out of sequence, Chief Justice Roberts administered the oath a second time."

The re-swearing in makes it a third time in U.S. history for a president to do so. The other two were former Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Chester A. Arthur.

After President James Garfield was shot, Chester Arthur was sworn in from his home in New York. He took the oath a second time in a ceremony in Washington two days later with the Supreme Court Justice.

    From my understanding

He would be President anyway without the oath. He was President by the constitution even before the oath was given. Do u fine this 2 be true or not?

    Without the Oath?

The swearing in of "the oath" has deep meaning (e.g. both esoterically and aesthetically) since the oath:

    is an affirmation
    is politically religious
    is an enthronement
is a coronation (e.g. type of crown, if you will)

Therefore, the oath satisfies both sides of the spectrum ~the seen people and the "unseen" people (e.g. in this case the Bilderberger Group) and holds signficance, as such. This ceremonious aspect is therefore a requirement "directly" "necessary" in attaining the highest seat in the land so "YES" this exercise must be met.:hot:

Judging from emotions, I am sorry to tell you that there are millions of people holding their breath.

Perhaps a little prayer could help them.

    overly cynical or learned pragmatism?

ain't no winning playin their game; it's designed that way ...
throughout that entire campaign the recurring image i had was charlie brown, lucy and that football. reckon they up in the air now. reckon further that when they finally hit the ground (maybe by then they'll have realized that they missed again? ... no? <sigh> prolly not ...) they'll be talking about "wait 'til next time!" ... again ...

1300 years and counting ... wonder if Africa will ever wake up again? or are they gonna keep pinin' for them good ole days of "black power" ...

    i weep
