Black Women : fibroid tumors??

i am only 21 years old and told that i have fibroid tumors.....they never explained it to me, never explained where they come from, all the doctor said was ITS COMMON IN BLACK WOMEN! Women who know about this please help me to really understand this.

They SAY that its common in black women. Granted, it runs in my family. My mom just had an hysterectomy, due to the size of hers. When they finally took it out, it was the size of an 8 pound baby. I have annual visits with my doctor to confirm that I dont have any malignant growths.

I've never had them. Thank God. But, I have friends and family who have.
