seen this movie 2 million times.. favorite Robert townsend film.. I wish Robert
would get back active.. I want to see more of this kind of sensibility.. with
spike to the left and Tyler right.. Robert is right there in the middle.. any time
you watch one of his films, you know he made it just for the black audience..
no compromises.. not white folks in the room syndrome.

One of my all time favorite parts in a movie took place in the movie "GLORY".

When the kernel lined up the black troops and informed them that any black captured would be returned to servitude and any black wearing a uniform would be killed upon capture. Denzel's character then turned to the brother he nicknamed "fiel hand" and says "YOU STILL WANT THAT BLUE SUIT N-CCA"!

Earlier in the movie "fiel han" was so excited that he would be able to fight and fight in uniform and Denzel's character informed him that the blue suits were only for the white soldiers but fiel han didn't believe him.

To me that scene summed up the situation of those of us who choose to call ourselves "Afrikan American", we think that as long as we use that title (blue suit) that everything will be all good and we feel like we are "free" (Although the very name suggests the opposite). But as soon as one of us goes to put on the "blue suit" to do some serious work for our own, we are shown that the "blue suits" are only for the white boys!
