Father, growing from a boy to a man, I have seen with my own eyes....
There’s not many good men left in the world
My personal opinion is that you are a good father, and also a good man
I am proud to have you as a father in the midst of all the madness
You are respectful, intelligent, dedicated to what you believe in, and responsible
.....All things I hope to become.
I wish earlier in life I had made better choices and could be doing something right now,
to make you and mom proud...but I did eventually see my error and am trying to rectify things
My life now consists of making you, mother, and my own son...proud of me
If my family can look at me as a good man, I’ll be satisfied.
I thank you for your patience and understanding, your financial and moral support.
Even though I’m not living how I should, or could.....
you have always been there to offer help and advice
It hurt not to have you living with us growing up, but we all knew,
you were never more than a phone call and short trip away
I learned a lot about being a man by looking at your life....
keep a job, never shirk your responsibilities, always maintain your dignity,
never disrespect a woman for any reason, and try not to show weakness
Mom told us of how you started your job young and never faltered, and it makes me ashamed,
that I couldn’t do the same...
All I can do at this point is do the most positive thing I know, and hope it’s enough.
Even getting to the army turned into a lengthy process for which I apologize...
But still you were there, to offer your support, and I thank you.
I still have so much to learn about being a dad, I feel overwhelmed sometimes,
but using you as an example, I think I can make it.
thinking back on my parents and how I was raised, I don’t see how I grew into such a failure...
I just hope it’s not too late to change things...I will remain positive and tough it out
and pray for the best.
You have always given your children fair chances, incentives, and support...and I for one...
Want to make it up to you.
With no money yet, all I can do is follow your footsteps and be a good man.
Thank you for being a good example and being so long-suffering pops.
I appreciate you and love you, and promise I will never give up on my quest for pride!!
THANK YOU FATHER, FOR EVERYTHING.
