For us to touch would be against the rules
Yet some would say denying our passions would make us fools
We have waited for each other
Longed to become lovers
Yet when reality sets in
We see that it’s impossible to begin
You are tied to my soul
The one to make me whole
But for me
You are not destined to be
So again I must stand aside
that what is right can abide
Forever putting myself on hold
To make sure destiny stays in control
Can’t be selfish even if I tried
No matter how much it hurts, or how much my soul cries
I wave goodbye
While staring in your eyes
In them I see what might have been
A world of love without and end
Fading in the distant
Your image now flees
And I again stand alone to watch over Love’s Sea.
