Irvin Lee Ashwood
Thank you for the years we were allowed to share together,
there's no other brother, I could have ever loved better.
Why do we cry when somebody dies, won't we all, one day expire?
yet it still feels like my soul has been, ...engulfed in a lake of fire.
The doctors called and said you wouldn't make it through the night,
I knew then, their experiment, didn't quite turn out right.
At lease you knew ...we all loved you to the core,
but we're glad you don't have to suffer any more!
What keeps me from going completely insane,
Is that your body's at rest, as your spirit remains.
I heard you say, ...you now want to live right,
I watched you cry ...and fight for your life.
but...
Often times we wake up, a little too late,
and life doesn't always, hand out debates.
My heart aches more for the sibblings you left,
as they watch you go to eternal rest.
but...
I promise to catch every tear drop they shed,
I'll be that pillow, to lean their heads.
I asked the undertaker to please take his time,
cause in there ly's ...a loved one of mines.
I want to savor every mile he do...
as we say our "final" farewells to you.
