Count Eddie Long as just another of the "undisciplined-nonspiritual types" who places theirselves in positions of religious power while wearing little of no moral fiber.....

    In the Spirit of Sankofa,

.......A response from the Christian community:

Bishop Paul Morton Calls on Eddie Long to Repent

    June 23, 2011 By Staff

Bishop Paul Morton (pictured) has joined the chorus of calls for Bishop Eddie Long to “fess up” to what he might have done to the boys in his church. Thankfully, Bishop Morton has publicly stated on multiple occasions that he is disappointed with the lack of humility that Bishop Eddie Long has displayed. He also says that Long needs to repent and engage in an act of public contrition in order to begin the healing process. Since his outspokenness, though, Bishop Morton says that Long no longer speaks to him, which could easily be the result of sour grapes. Either way, it is good to see some “Men of God” publicly take questionable pastors to task.

Bishop Morton isn't the only "Man of God" who has had something to say about the Bishop Eddie Long sex scandal: Bishop T.D. Jakes recently took a softer stance on the issue, advising that prayer was the only solution in the matter and that the congregation of New Birth should handle the situation internally. Creflo Dollar went as far as to say that he wouldn't accept members from Long’s church and that parishioners should remain loyal to their pastor.

Hear Bishop Paul Morton talk about Bishop Eddie Long here:

Thank you Brother Clyde for sharing this sermon of Bishop Morton offering Godly counsel to Bishop Long.

A few things resonate with me, first we are saved by God's grace only..at the end of it all, we were conceived from sin and battle against it daily, only able to die to it by way of the Holy Spirit. Second, when a man of God falls, it's a wonderous thing to see others in the Body of Christ attempt to gird him up and accept him, urging that he turn away from the spirit of perversion and come back to Christ, through repentance. Third, it reminds us that just because one man of God falls, it doesn't deem the whole Body of Christ is perverted, as we each are to give an account to God accordingly.

Thank you again for this nugget of gold...I'm sure some will see the worth in it, as I do!

    In the Spirit of Sankofa,

    .......And yvw Proverbs31Woman,

Pastors and others (Masters/Teachers) are men and women just like the rest of us, sinful. However, there is a caution, which serves as a reminder of consequences for those desiring to become such people of the cloth or clergy (Masters); its goes like this:

My Brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

The key operable phrase: offend not in word, infers the very issue of this thread topic, among other things.

    Peace In,

    peace

Is anybody at all interested in the damage done to the young men he 'counseled'? Why are people out to save and pray for this preacher and calling him to repent without even the mention of the healing needed for those brothers he abused!

have we even considered the fact that in that big church how many he has counceled in one way or another may now be questioning whether he gave them sound advice on Marriage, relationship with god, job situations, business ventures....etc.?

Speaking of Creflo not taking any of Long's members and telling them to stay true to their pastor when the pastor hasn't been true with his congregation reminds me of when jeffre Dahmer was eating people and this one brother escaped his house and ran outside and told a cop that someone was trying to kill and eat him. The cop thought the brother was crazy and made him go back upstairs and into dahmer's house.

How in the hell are you going to tell people to stay true to a preacher who see's the young men in his congregation as opportunities to satisfy his beastly cravings? You are asking them to accept being traumatized and that if you don't then there's something wrong with you!

Creflo, at the least should offer to counsel them don't ya think? On second thought maybe it's best that he close his doors to them because then the IRS would really be on him wondering how he could afford 2 private jets!
