    expensive
    i should've kissed your cheek
    the nights i saw tears
i should've rendered unto you the massages on a
worn body after a hard day's work
instead i was jerked... by the nba games

i should've given you the phone call you needed to hear
(if only to tell you sweet nothings in your ear)
i think now of the cheer you would've had if it were not
    for my impassiveness

    and it's costing me

to want you to kiss my cheek of endless tears
    and
grace me with your affection of your fingers which gave me all the direction i needed
i should've heeded you as you did me
you would play a melo cd as i lay on your breasts

now it's like the ceiling is shaking it's head at my chest saying
i'll teach you how she's been feeling when there's no
    one to lay on

i didn't know that i had insufficient funds in my chances account
assed out in checkings and savings having midnight cravings
    drawing interest at no amount

i didn't know how sub zero felt and how can such cold weather make my heart melt??

nostalgic heat forbidding me to sleep think and eat tonight
i turn on the light to sit up on my bed
reflecting in my head the many times all it ever took was an
    "i love you"

The lessons we all have to learn huh? I love your style j'hiah.
Yeh sure the poem is all that sentimental stuff, but with an original angle.
i should've given you the phone call you needed to hear
(if only to tell you sweet nothings in your ear)
*Love the flow of that particular phrase*

i didn't know that i had insufficient funds in my chances account
assed out in checkings and savings having midnight cravings
    drawing interest at no amount

*And I just loved that stanza.*

    Great work.

The bad thang about us is...
    I still love you.
You will never know the strength
It took for me to go thru.

    You took me for granted
Instead of taking me for walks.
    You gave me reasons,
    Yet, we rarely had talks.

    You saw every NBA game
But you never saw my pain.
    You made new promises,
    Yet, thangs remained the same.

I took as much as I could take.
    I'm sorry baby,
But I had to leave...for my sake :crying:

...and i'm sorry again for not giving a queen as yourself
    the attention you deserved
i must have swerved in the left field i saw the sign and failed to yield to your needs
driving my soul into a field of weeds and rodents eating away at the peace of my being
and all i'm seeing is you
    but
    you're nowhere in sight..

    thanx Joyce

    You are welcome J'hiah,

It's always a joy to flow with you from time to time
in poetry. You are a very sensitive man. I am sure your future
wife will appreciate that quality. :)

    Your sista in poetry...Joyce
