    Late afternoon sunshine
    Captured her

    Gentle breezes
    Conveyed her
    Across extra-sensory
    Receptors

    Under-currents of
    Rhythm
    Swayed her
    Back and forth
    Across soothing tunes

    Clear blue backdrops
    Portrayed her
    As {being} picture perfect
    In her heritage
    Of Afro-centric
    Persuasion
    {As} geometric lines
    Outlined
    The smooth rhymes
    Of her

    Early evening moonlight
    Bathe her
    In the rich glow of
    “We Can Do…”

    As she smiled at me
    Activating
    The stars of her eyes
    And try as I did
I could not find the words
    …my mind
    Racing across blurred lines of
    “Please, be mine”

    Late afternoon sunshine
    Capture her

    Gentle breezes
    Convey her across
    Extra-sensory receptors

    I savored her.
