Another alien on the planet
somehow born not of this realm
too much energy stirring within
to amaze, enhance, and overwhelm

Before learning the ways of this world
Limitless was how the sky was viewed
Brilliant square peg didn't fit into any round hole,
and did not want to be forced, screwed, or skewed

Some sort of assimilation is necessary
to be able to function on any plane with humanity
Neither receptively or expressively fluent in the language
such a barrier nearly drove the poor soul to insanity

No place to hang one's hat, or find one's heart
Tired of being alienated at home
Is this nomad supposed to ever belong?
Or destined to forever roam?

destined to forever roam?

great question

conformity? another great question

what are you conforming to?

you came from another place with this one poet

i had to check the authors' name twice on this one

Ahhh after reading this wonderful piece mami...
I'm reminded of this scripture, John 17:14-15 'we are in the world but not of it...' in reference to us existing on this earthly plain but it not being our origin or ancestry. HE is...and that is comforting. I truly dig this piece my sister.
