Now it's been said, if you see it
    with your mind's eye
    Then it already exists
and on that we can rely
Well I need to see it,
for I am wondering if it will ever be
Guess I need to envision a Black Utopia
That's right, Black folks living in unity

I close my eyes and I see
    red, black, and green
    swirling then blending together
    painting such a peaceful scene

    And there we are...owning every
    restaurant, clothing, and grocery store
There are a few places to buy spirits, but
not on every corner like before

    The doctors are Black
    the dentists are too
many are trained in the use of herbs
    to cure whatever ails you

    We don't care what hairstyle
    anyone chooses to wear
But you'll have to cross the county line
of Black Utopia to purchase any fake hair

    The only drugs dealt
    are filled at the pharmacy
    with everyone gainfully employed
there's no need to deal in illegal currency

    We are all beautiful
None are too dark, none are too light
    All possible shades of brown
    are precious within our sight

No man wants to be a thug
    nobody needs to be strapped
Our minds are our assets, and the wealth
of the community keeps them tapped

    And two parent households
are the rule, not the exception
    Black kings and queens, loving
and respecting each other without question

    Our children are taught
    all about our history
so that living like the royalty
that they are, is no mystery

Now it's been said, if you see it
    with your mind's eye
    Then it already exists
and on that we can rely
Well I need to see it,
for I am wondering if it will ever be
Guess I need to envision a Black Utopia
That's right, Black folks living in unity

    Can you see it?

You can see things at times when others can't Rich, that's a gift. I needed to see this in my mind's eye. Again appreciated.

Sometimes I think we'll only see something better when we truly see what bad shape we are in. We've come a long way, yet we have so far to go!

This piece serves as a wake up call of sorts. Thanks for showing us what we need to see!!!!!!!!!

    Peace and Love

All things indeed start from a vision...and the mind brings that vision into reality...do I see it in my mind?? I certainly do, it's time to bring it...as we see it.
Wonderful piece poet, I love your visions.
