Black Poetry : Encouragement

Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed
Seeming to be sinking underneath life’s problems?
The more you did, the more you endured.
The more money you acquired, the more problems you experienced.
The more you tried to help, the more heartache you withstood.
The more you prayed, the more the devil attacked you.

Have you ever had one of those I almost give up days
Where you wanted to give up on everything and everyone?
where everything appears to be going against you.
where you continue to be misunderstood by your peers.
where it appears that everything you touch crumbles.

Have you ever found yourself pressed against the wall
Somehow stuck in the midst of a hellish situation.

Well Today, I come to uplift and encourage you.
In spite of all we endure in life, God is still faithful
In spite of our mistakes, the Lord still speaks highly of us.

Do you realize the things you cried over yesterday,
have actually made you stronger today?
Do you realize all of the mess you endured in the past
has actually qualified you for present and future opportunities?
If you had not endured the heartache, heart break or heart renewal
you would have never been able to stand as you are able to now.

Beloved, when you are going through your storms in life,
it is very hard to see how things are working for your good
When you are trying to pick up the broken pieces of your heart,
it is hard to see how you will ever love or trust someone again.
But you have to hang on to belief that all things happpen for a reason
That which does not take you under makes you that much stronger

Allow me to be very frank with you
it is hard to understand why you are going through.
It is hard to understand why you continue to be tested.
It is hard to understand why people continue to gossip about you.
It is hard to understand why tragedy continues to knock on your door.
It is hard to fully understand what’s really going on around you.

But in spite of what is going on around you,
Or coming against you or happening within you,
God is still up to something awesome in your life.
It may not look like it right now, but trust that He is.
So hold on just a little while longer, my friend
