En Vogue stars settle legal battle over band name
    April 1, 2013, 7:50 AM EST
    WENN
A judge has ended a legal battle between former members of En Vogue by granting two of the singers the right to use the girl group's name.
Bing: More on the En Vogue lawsuit
Cindy Herron and Terry Ellis have won permission to continue touring as En Vogue after taking legal action against the other pair of former members, Maxine Jones and Dawn Robinson, alleging they do not have the right to perform using the moniker.
Herron and Ellis demanded they be granted sole use of the name, as well as $1 million in damages, and a judge has now accepted their claim. The singers have won control of the name, but the judge ruled they did not qualify for any financial compensation, according to TMZ.com. All four singers were part of the original line-up of the R&B group.

all in all.. Cindy and Terry actually represent the sound of the group more so than Maxine and Dawn. I saw an interview where they recapped what happened between the members.. and they finally admitted that everything fell apart when Denzil Foster and Thomas Mcelroy.. the dudes who put the group together and wrote and produced all of the hits.. were pushed out of the picture by the label and the group. Funny thing is.. the label had been gasing them up telling them that Denzil and Thomas were jerking them on the money.. and they bought that.. and dropped the dudes that had brought them up from scratch.. and from there it all fell apart. Divided and conquered..

Yep, the LLC did it for them:

LLC stands for Limited Liability Company. Because it is not a partnership or a corporation, the owners of an LLC are not partners or shareholders, they are "members." Such companies are frequently labeled Limited Liability Corporations, but corporation is inaccurate and company is the proper term.

    They still look good:

hey.. the evil black man has a recurring role in black life.. so it wasn't hard to believe they were being jerked.. even though these dudes put them on the map.. and I remember the label put a lot of scratch on the table for envogues videos and whatnot.. and all of that needs to be recouped before there's any money distributed.. Artist really make their money from touring.. and I don't recall seeing Envogue really beating the streets like that.. even though folks everywhere were dying to see them live.

Now that the reality of the game has hit them, it would be cool if Terry and Cindy got back with Denzil and Thomas.. their sound really is undateable.. just grab another couple of girls and get it going again..

this is why I actually admire how swiftly Mathew Knowles dealt with the drama within Destiny's Child. He just whipped out the blade and cut the cancer out before it had a chance to ruin the brand.

The entertainment industry has closets full of bodies that are there because of their egos. There is a new book where Mary Wells admitted, the worse thing she did was leave MOTOWN. She was told they were ripping her off and she could do better. It wasn't until almost the end that she said how good she had it there
