like the full span of an eagles wings
while bassing in the wonders of the miraculous sun
I embrace my blackness
like the lone wolf
paying attributes to the moon
I embrace my blackness
Like the almighty stallion
galloping through the meadows
with the wind at it's sides
I embrace my blackness
No one has to tell me to love me
no one has a right to steal my heritage
across the dessert sands my feet have burned
my mouth parched from dryness
and still I embrace my blackness
the beat of my beginings echoes in my soul
while singing in my ear my blackness shall
forever be
So I hold my head high
with my shoulders positioned back
as my ancestors dance around me
as I embrace my blackness
my heart is fed
my spirit have kissed my guardians
and their protection have engulfed
my being
AS I EMBRACE MY BLACKNESS
