Emancipation gave no mention of freedom

    Slave hands clapped together
    like ole' Negro spirituals
    on off shores
    Chain Gangs
    Queens forced to bow down
    into witches brew
    stirr fired chittlerlings
    a generation clinging
    lady day sand the blues

Emancipation gave no mention of freedom

    on foreign stoops little
    black boys cry out

    GIVE US FREE

    as the tin cup
    rattles to the rhytmn
of bebop and the two step
    broken laces
    cracked whipps
    shoes not a modern
    day accessory

Emancipation gave no mention of freedom

    echos belted out
    from hungry souls
    the dead will rise
    and the nation will fall
    bombs concluded
    all weddings stories
    brokenn brooms
    spread across africa

Emancipation gave no mention of freedom

    warriors called out
in the middle of the night
    arrows of ochosi
    direct the winds of shango
    steady heads fallen
    folibale to osun
    placed on shelfs of
    depression
    power of women
    slapped around
    like a soccer ball
    damned to walk alone
    in the road to purity

Emancipation gave no mention of freedom

    Barb-wiring keeps
    Kings and Queens in captivity

LET MY PEOPLE GO (the national anthem)

Emancipation gave no mention of freedom

    Honest Abe'
    wasn't so honest
    negoiating lives
    2 card stud,
    dueses wild
    Ace high,
    no back door

    Anti-up
