I have always felt a gospel bend in the Debarge family's music.. I think many
of their struggles with addiction had to do with them not being where they
truly believed they should have been.. Everytime I've seen any of them live,
I felt the conflict in them.. not that I'm psychic or anything.. but they always
performed a couple of church songs.. and the energy and feeling in those songs
always seemed to me so much stronger and natural than their shoobeedoo-I-love-you songs..
