    Maybe of a prior life

    fist over hand

    one beat

    then another

    yet they move

    and keep moving

    harder

    .... louder

    ........... faster

    groans against sweat

    tears cuffed and shackled

    souls bound to bottomless pits

    minds spent

    shoulders worn sore

    men against oars

    I beat out

    numbers in the dark

    creaking of this trade

    ship against a night held

    up by

    statistical stars

    counting on one hand

    then another points out

    stellar gazelles and lions

    as I force a

    callused palm into

    the center of this

    leather beaten drum

    N2...

    I Can always appreciate
    a reminiscent journey to
the beating drums of the past....you have
so vividly displayed that voyage...nice flow.
