has anyone noticed the double standard in television in regaurd to homosexuality?....example are the two shows on showtime Queer as Folk and The L Word......two totally different shows....The ladder is extremely sexually oriented and the other is a bit more tame. Queer as Folk has only a few female characters (two of them are lesbians and in relationships with each other). The L Word however has had several male characters and tho they may not have staple roles in the show they are difeinitaly not gay but actually either the husband the boyfriend or some other straight male thrown into the plot....is this because men are supposedly more sexual and women more emotional?....if so also take a look at the shows they allow on regular television....there are no lesbian shows to my knowledge but there are more than a handful of gay (male) shows... It may seem harder to digest the thought of two men having sex, but it seems the thought of two women being in a relationship with no male inffluence is even more distasteful to our society. or maybe i'm reading into it.....ur thoughts?
