    As Salaam Alaikum!!!!!!!!

I think we do ourselves a disservice by using the double slave title "African-America" to refer to black people living in America. That title further shows how much of a slave we still are by wearing there names. A Truly free people go by the name they choose not by the name given to them.

Black people describes us to an extent but that does not identify with land or a specific nation.

How is African a slave name?

There are Africans who migrated to the US and other western countries who don't identify as black.

What term can best describe all of us as a collective?

Do I have any ideas? Yeh. I use black and African interchangeably and see no contradiction.

I like Nubian, African is fine with me. I also like Ngolo, but that is a specific group. A term to identify with, would we have to agree on a culture? a specific way of living? what philosophical parameters?
