(I had to change this flow. Sometimes experiences will do that to you)
I started walking through
a "majestical" paradise
strolling through a storybook
wonderland created to entice
As I got half way through my trek
the scenery no longer looked so nice
The cardinals and blue jays singing so
sweetly soaring so high in the sky
suddenly became mummified, plunging
to their deaths, their last breaths were high
pitched shrieks piercing my ears. I turned
away from this morbid sight only to see
a garden of lilies and daffodils, hues of magenta
sapphire and buttercup yellow were smiling at me
all at once the petals began to melt, turning into a green
ooze that reeked of a cross between vomit and cat pee
Gagging i ran into a swarm of butterflies
translucent, pastel wings peacefully fluttering
suddenly, the insects transformed into maggots, slimy
and festering, turning into flies, I tossed and turned muttering
No more! No more! Please release me from this madness!
And I awoke from this dream gasping for air, frightened and
perplexed at first, but after pondering a bit, filled with sadness.
I deduced that any Eden, no matter how wondrous can
be changed into Hell if fear is allowed to take over gladness.
Fear will destroy anything and everything in it's path...
if we let it...
I pray to God I won't live
to regret it,
this fear... has got a hold of you, is trying to
to latch onto me and is trying to simply destroy
all that we could possibly be.
I'm fighting like hell not to let it, can't you see?
But you need to join in this fight wholeheartedly.
And together we'll defeat this fear, and live triumphantly.
Making that paradise a reality, embracing eternally.
I'll be damned if I allow this fear to become a factor in me.
