    (Domestic Acceptance)

    Forgotten September

He said she just didn’t look right
Had a sassy gleam in her eyes
So with the back of his hand
This little coward of a man
    Would make evil materialize

    He questioned her every move
Who she spoke to and where she went
    He forbade her club hopping
    He stalked her while shopping
Clocking how much money she spent

He raped her and called it love making
Said she wasn’t worth a thin dime
    He mentally abused her
    While he viciously used her
    Time, after time, after time

Her friends told her, “girl you stupid
I’d leave him if I were you”
‘There’s no way I would tolerate
All that misery and holler hate’
“You’ll be dead before he’s through”

But she loved him and so accepted
    His brutal and medieval ways
    His verbal attacks
    And his backhanded smacks
That confused and confounded her days

Then one morning she finally snapped
She’d taken it for nineteen years
She put a hole in his chest
    Right through his silk vest
After **** near two decades of tears

    Now she’s upstate doing thirty
For a sunrise she can’t remember
Still a victim of his violence
    Which she finally silenced
    One forgotten day in September

Well, you painted this scenerio with strokes that force the mind to contemplate this horror that too many endure. Whew...Just keep letting them flow, poet of the week, please....

this was nice enjoyed it for real so let me drop this up in here

Prevail like a scale measure pounds and treasure bounds
Calibrated to last long and blast strong don’t pleasure clowns
Carry cultures like temporary structures built with sick bricks
Too many misled teams must scald head with steam bring
The hot liquid wear bling drop kick it, rhyme is a keen thing

Thanks Caramel, Gempis, Queen, Rich, Angel, Madd and Watz:

Being raised by my mother and grandmother, I personally have never hit a woman in my life. But this is a true story from 'round the way.

Sadly, one in three women will experience this. 1 in 3 :crying:
