I think it is interesting to compare how beauty is judge in our ancestral homeland with how it is compared here. What I find particularly interesting is that the article states that there is increasing “pressure” on women in Africa to be thin, even though the average man likes “fleshlier” women. If this pressure isn’t coming from men, where is it coming from? Could the same observation be made of sisters in the US?

It's not so much the "size" as it's the "shape" that gets my attention.

I can't speak about other cultures but I've ALWAYS liked thick women, even as a little kid.

Even before the big-booty was being promoted all over the radio and in rap music.

    Even before puberty.

There was always something "inviting" about wide hips and a round bottom.

Funny you should mention African women.

Why...just the other day I was in a book store reading a woman from Nigeria walked pass me and had a butt so high and beautiful I literally saw stars.
Maybe it came from me jerking my neck around and looking back at her so quick, but I actually had to shake those little twinkles out my sight for a minute or two before my vision was normal.

Most West African women whether fat or skinny have nice high behinds and know how to sway them when they want to grab a man's attention.

i got something to say that i appreciate africa embrace their woman size but what about our men here. these standards are all screwed up. i love a man no matter how big or little he is. you know if you want to talk about size. you don't see woman saying if something or your you know what aint over a certain amount i wont touch you. woman love a man no matter what skin their in. i love my man he aint the best looking thing in the world but my man has a heart of gold. and that what makes my heart go flutter. like my mama always say all that glitters aint gold you be the judge. now all the men come bash me now.:slingshot :bawling: :slingshot :bawling: :slingshot :bawling: :slingshot :bawling:

Why? For what reason? I don't think anyone would have a problem with what you said. I think there are much similarities between African Americans, and our African brothers (not to mention the sisters). We all seem to have similar taste in beauty, which not surprisingly happens to match the women of our race. While there are some black men who prefer the many thin women in our community, an equal (if not greater) number like bigger women. This is how it should be...there is someone for everyone.

.o0( I know a lot of sisters that wont touch it if it aint big enough )

There are lots of brothers and sisters with preferences in the mates they want. It's part of life that makes the world go round
