    Do your thing Girl,
Don't let nobody tell you you can't sing Girl,
It's your parade, don't let nobody rain Girl,
Do your thing, do your thing,

    Bat them eyes Girl,
Don't worry 'bout them ones that criticize Girl,
Unwise, too young to recognize your prize Girl
So bat them eyes, bat them eyes,

    Love yourself Girl,
'til you do you can't really love nobody else Girl,
You gotta value you in all the things you do Girl,
Cause ain't nobody more valuable than you Girl,
    so Love yourself, love yourself,

    Do your thing,
Don't let nobody tell you can't sing Girl
It's your parade don't let nobody rain Girl.
Just do your thing, do your thing !

thank you.. I wrote this a few years ago.. for this young girl I saw on the bus.. this is the second piece:

    From God to Me

    Beautiful,
    How can they say
    This is irresponsible?
    How can you be
    Anything but a gift--
    From god to me.

    Beautiful,
    You make me so happy.
    Whenever I look,
    In those brown eyes,
    I realize,
    True love,
    Infinite &
    Unconditional.

    Beautiful,
    How can they say
    That you're a mistake?
    When I’ve been
    Nothing but happy,
    Since the day you came.
    And I can see
Nothing but god in your eyes,
    Your laugh, your cry,
    Nothing but happy.

    On the bus,
    They look at us
    Like we’ve done something wrong,
    My colored braids
    My young age,
Don’t seem to fit their image
    Of mother and son.

But I thank god for you,
    Every moment of every day,

    And Through my life
    I will struggle for you
And give you all that I have,
    From now until the day
    You are a man.

    Hello Skuderjaymes...

I believe this is the first I've read you, so I welcome you just in case I haven't.
Anywho, I enjoyed both poems, they're very uplifting.
Being a mother experiencing incredible mother child love,
I can truly relate to the second piece.

A child's eyes do convey such wonderful things. They are true experts in the teaching of unconditional love.
I love those two verses best!

Beautiful writes! Thanks for sharing with us.

There is nothing more complimentary than a man who recognizes
and lets a girl/woman know her worth. For the young girl, it is the
foundation of pride and high esteem she will carry all her life. For
the woman, it is the epitome of respect that a man expresses for
her that lets her know she is a Queen.

I thank you, Skuderjaymes, for this piece. :toast:

I wrote this piece for a girl on the bus. A girl whose entire story was on her
face and in her body language.. I wrote it down on a piece of paper, and I gave
it to her as I got off the bus. She smiled.
