How tho? I don't quite understand that. We can call ourselves "Africans", but say who we were is no longer apart of who we are?
Can you explain further?
What do people mean when they say they are African; or their culture is African? That is as vague as a person saying they are Asian. Asian can be a person from Russia, Iraq, China, or countless other asian countries each with different cultures. With the African, Africa is made up of over 50 individual countries each with different languages, countless different cultures and tribes.
When a person says they are African, which part of Africa are they talking about? Egypt? Somalia? South Africa? Kenya? Each of these countries has different cultures, languages, and people and the fact that we have no idea which of these cultures, and tribes our ancestors were stolen from means whatever tribe it was has no influence on what we do and who we are today. Our tribe is the people we associate with today; not some place half way around the world where our distant ancestors came from; all of that was stolen from us.
