When you say "Peace," do you mean: Peace? or Piece?.. as in pieces.
Do you mean: to unify, to come together.. each in it's proper place, like love?
or like voices in a choir.. all different but unified toward the same harmonious end?

Is that what you mean, when you say "Peace" ?

or do you mean "Piece", as in: broken from the whole? separate.. individual.. shattered..
shaped by the nature of the break.. jagged.. predisposed to cutting.. permanently ready to draw blood, to injure?

so is it: Peace? or Piece?

Thanks yall.. this was supposed to be a new topic in the Open Forum about
the subversion of language.. and how it poisons communication and
relationships. If you look at all the arguing going on, you'll see a lot of
subverted meanings.. where someone with say, "Peace," when they
really mean F*** You.. or they'll throw the word "Brother" or "Sister" out
their like it's some sort of indictment.. And they may not realize it, but when
they do that, they are dirtying the phrase.. all that subverted meaning
builds up to the point where folks just start looking for a new word.. that's
one of the reasons our groups name keeps changing.. We'll probably be
Multi-colored American by the end of my Great Great Grandson's generation.

I'm rambling again.. Anyway.. here's the deleted second part to this piece :
When you say "Brother,"
do you mean brother.. like family, ?
like: He's my brother.. like that?
or do you mean it like the Ofay's use it?..
like Pino in Do The Right Thing?
Like N**** with out the 'N' or the 'igga',
but with the 'B' and the 'rother' instead.

When you say "Brother" do you mean to mock me?
is it an indictment against me? or a term of endearment?
see, I can't really tell,
cause when you ended all that mean-spirited mess with "Peace Brother",
It sounded to me like "F*** you N****, go to hell."
.. this censorship is so hard for me..
**** means something.. it says, "he wasn't supposed to say that"
it pulls the person out of the poem.. I respect the rules, but it's really
hard to express the human experience without having access to the full
range of emotion and circumstance..

you see that? I'm talking too much.. that's how I know this should
not have been a poem.. maybe an essay or a short story.. or
maybe a series of poems.. 2 or 3 or 4.. I don't know.. but the
fact that I have all these words left over tells me, it may be the wrong
medium.. I'm going to work on it some more and see what happens.

peace.
