    Hello Family,

Yesterday during Brother OldSoul's class, he impressed upon us the need to know additional languages, other than English. He talked of how it would empower us in so many ways.

This thread is to find out how many of us can use another language fluently. Fluently means you can both read and write in this additional language.

During this chat, we also talked of hosting language classes here in our own community. Look forward to that in the near future. Also, if you know another language fluently, and would be willing to help teach those of us here, please let me know.

How many other languages do you know fluently?

Would you be interested in learning an additional language?

To start this off ... i don't know any other language than English, and i would be interested in learning.

    Looking forward to the responses.

    Much Love and Peace.

Wolof, and Spanish, I enjoy learning languages. My goal is to say, Hello and How are you, in most Afrakan languages.

Brother OldSoul's message was timely and on point. It is better to learn different languages when you are young, but it is never too late. The reality of today's world is that different people, cultures, and countries are doing business with each other. Those who aren't able to communicate face the position of being left behind.

    Well

I took 4 1/2 years of Spanish. For years I didn't use it and kinda forgot a lot of things. I went to some training in Texas about 2 years ago and there was a translator who spoke Spanish thru headsets to the Spanish speaking people who attended the meeting. I opted to get the headsets too and I was amazed at how much I remembered. I took 4 pages of notes with words I remembered and it was awesome. One thing is true if you don't use it you will lose it. I plan to take a Spanish class and invest in some computer learning cds that teach Spanish.
