Greeting the Light in you, I watched some of it but I got some thoughts from the little I viewed.
There was one part that really hit home for me, when the Soul Hunter starts to "negotiate" with the souls, explaining to them what he would be willing to create for them to thrive and he mentions giving them holographic bodies. The parts about the "holographic brothel" where also very interesting.
The fact that the owner as able to create holographic bodies by using only a photograph is what is currently done today with video game characters. So our Elders had a right to be superstitious about taking pictures after all, suggesting that the camera had the ability to steal one's soul. This is still a long standing belief among people on the earth that are not exposed to so-called "society."
Reminds me of
Caprica (prequel to
Battlestar Galactic) where they are able to upload the thoughts, personalities, souls and memories of a person to create their avatar or virtual representation which enables them to experience a virtual club world. A programme is written to create avatars that captures all the information of the person from their bank details, social security number, cinema tickets, medical records, library card, driving license, in fact every piece of data on that person. But the program somehow seems to also capture the soul of the person where several copies of that one person’s soul can be made. That soul cannot die but is rebirthed into a machine hence the CYLONS (cybernetic life-form nodes) or another virtual body. In Battlestar Galactica however, the avatars have evolved and are able to appear as human physical bodies that have feelings, emotions etc and is able to exist outside of its virtual world into the physical world.

The owner of the holobrothal can create holographic bodies by using a photograph, and the Soul Hunter who captures the souls of those right at the moment of death reminds me of an old film I have called The Asphyx about a Victorian scientist who is able to use the light on his projector/camera to capture the person’s ‘death spirit’ called the Asphyx (like so-called grim reaper) that comes just as the person is about to die to claim the soul of the person but if the Asphyx is caught at the right time it can lead to immortality for that person.

What is the soul? And, is there a difference between one’s soul and one’s spirit? Some say the soul is where all our actions, deeds, thoughts, memories are all stored - personality as it were and the soul can be corrupted, and that the spirit however is the essence of the Divine and cannot be corrupted. In some cultures it is believed that a person may possess more than one soul.

Seems as if they've perfected or expanded their efforts in this area to maintain their illusion of being immortal and having no need for a "God" or Power Greater than themselves. Those in bondage to their will and beliefs are the ones who require a "body" for salvation! Even if it is an illusion.
I thought it was typical of the guy in
Babylon 5 like so many who believe in only what they can see, hear and touch. Considering what death is from the western European perspective it is the end of life that is why they are obsessed with seeking immortality. Indigenous people of Africa or Asia don’t feel the need to look outside of themselves to find answers of the soul, the universe and the divine or to find reasons to validate their existence, they look within. As it is said, everything you seek is within you. You are the book and the law.
When the Soul Hunter says
There is strength enough in one mind in one soul to change the universe. Can you imagine how much strength there would be in one billion souls all focused on escape?I could only think, imagine the power of the minds of our people focused on one aim and direction towards unity and liberation.
As the soul is released from the orb, it says
they came for us and took us away, they had no right. Let me go back to sleep. Reminded me of our people who were taken away and enslaved and are now asleep and when you try to wake them up they want to remain asleep.
Anyway, I find it interesting to make spiritual comparisons especially related to the soul and what happens to it after its life on earth and how different cultures treat the body and soul of one who has transitioned.
My mum (bless her soul) use to say to me that I should make sure I save up for my funeral because it’s very expensive. LOL, its more expensive to die in the England than it is to live she would say. She had requested a Christian burial and when she transitioned 10 years ago, we laid her soul to rest in Jamaica where she was born.
Western world question spirituality and their placement of immortality is distorted. They teach the nurturing of the physical self and less emphasis on nurturing the spiritual aspects as emphasized in certain Eastern and African cultures. The Tibetan Book of the Dead speaks of the different places where the soul is sent after its life on earth and the Egyptian Book of the Dead..

Depending on our beliefs we are presented with various visions of the journey of the soul in the afterlife. Belonging to a social-spiritual group or communal setting that has the same beliefs as you is important. Otherwise, who is going to bury you the way you want to be buried.
I’m not sure what happens to the soul after this existence but I’d like to think that my family and friends will send good energies/prayers ahead of me and that I receive the ultimate objective that lies within my heart - Love & Peace, moving gracefully in the sacred dance of consciousness as I ascend to the Cause of all causes.
PS: It is after 4 am here & I'm tired so if this writing seems all over the place you know why..lol. Blessings!
