I have a question for the sistahs. Do women compete against other women for attention from men?

    Share your thoughts, please

yes, women compete with one another for a man's attention. i think that some women go overboard when they get 'stupid'. i'll share one instance:

i have a cousin who is a barber and has loads of male clientele. when i visit her (at home) and there are no males around, she is as sweet as a combination of cake-candy-cookies-pie to me. however, as soon as a penis enters the room, her claws come out. she actually says 'little catty remarks' to me in the men's presence. alot of her clients have asked to be introduced to me and their request are circumvented by her most of the times. one guy actually said to her "why are you c*ck-blocking!?" so, men can sense the competition too,

women have to keep in mind that 'what is for her, is for her' and stop (unhealthy competition). healthy competition can be fun/good as long as it's not for a man.

a rule of thumb: do not copy, compete, compare.

hmmm... interesting, i'm surprised at the silence. i wanna break it.
i see it, all the time. i think the thing any sista should learn if she does this is that she should NEVER turn against a sista when it comes to a man. it just aint right. tempting as it is, what happened to sistahood???!!!

    just my opp.

How come? how big of an issue do you think it is? Do women talk about it among themselves?

unwritten rules Sekhemu. its just not done. we don't make an effort to talk about because its not necessary. you just gotta avoid it. its a BIG issue because... a man wouldn't do the same thing for whatever poor sistah had to go and do that. a man would probably just be like: "aight my brotha, handle that." and walk right away.

Women often times gossip against other women out of jealousy, especially if she thinks the woman is more beautiful than her, or already has a good man.

Do women talk about this? Well, it's like anything else... perhaps in serious discussions like this maybe but generally it's a very subconscious thing that's not admitted out in open.

So it's sort of like not looking a pit bull in the eye, it's best to avoid the issue. I understand.

However, I find this a little unfortunate.
