Substance, and if so what is the make up of the substance you are ingesting, where does it come from? And how does it effect your mind, soul, and body?

Right now... About 50/50. That's why I can't vote! I want to eat for substance, but I love it so... And not just the taste... the way food feels in my mouth... the way it looks on the plate.... the smell.... the way my teeth feel slicing through.... and the way it feels slithering down my throat....

When I diet.... I'm really suffering.

... Keep doing what you are doing, you'll get there. Watch Gluten intake also...

Gluten (from Latin gluten, "glue") is a protein composite found in foods processed from wheat and related grain species, including barley and rye. It gives elasticity to dough, helping it to rise and to keep its shape, and often gives the final product a chewy texture.

Gluten-free diet: What's allowed, what's not

By Mayo Clinic staff
Definition

A gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes the protein gluten. Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye and triticale (a cross between wheat and rye).
A gluten-free diet is used to treat celiac disease. Gluten causes inflammation in the small intestines of people with celiac disease. Eating a gluten-free diet helps people with celiac disease control their signs and symptoms and prevent complications.
Initially, following a gluten-free diet may be frustrating. But with time, patience and creativity, you'll find there are many foods that you already eat that are gluten-free and you will find substitutes for gluten-containing foods that you can enjoy.
Purpose

The gluten-free diet is a treatment for celiac disease.
