    Peace and Blessings Family,

I've often wondered, do maggots just show up, even if there are no flies around?

I thot flies laid maggots ... that maggots are fly eggs / larva ... that you can't have one without the other ... is that true?

I was watching a crime documentary recently, and the dead person's body had maggots on it, and they were saying that it meant she'd been dead for some small number of days at least ... 3 i think ... and it made me wonder ... do maggots just grow out of thin air, whenever there is some decomposition?

    Thanks in advance.

That would be called 'spontaneous generation'. Which is not possible. Thus a fly had to lay eggs on the body
