    This is an example of displacement:
    Sometimes I grow homesick for heaven
    And the glories I there shall behold;
    What a joy that will be when my Savior I see
    In that beautiful city of gold! —Anon

    This technique of religious philosophy teaches its followers (eq. especially black people) to look to a future glory while over looking the possibility and probability of attaining glory right here and right now...displacement, YES!

    This psychosis reminds me of other fairy tale axioms:

    the rabbit and the carrot
    the brass ring

    ...in other words reaching for the unreachable!

    We have to look forward to glory because men and women cannot have the same glory here on the earth as is in Heaven; it cannot be compared nor should one want for fading glories over that which is incorruptible.
