Kenya: Qatar Airways Introduces Direct Flights to U.S.

Qatar Airways has introduced direct flights to the US, cutting both costs and time needed to travel to the world's biggest economy for Kenyan travellers.
Mr Akbar al Baker, the airline's chief executive, described the new flight as offering local travellers an alternative route.

The Kenya-US route is mainly served by carriers that fly across the Atlantic through Europe.
The Middle East airliner becomes the first from that region to fly directly to Washington, a move that aviation experts say could reduce the length of the journey by up to six hours.
