Arizona
A single diamond drops
As teardrops hit the floor
Different from the others
Created from the depths
Of hope and sadness
Broken by a harsh reality
Only a blink in time
But an eternity spent
While the diamond falls
Hides itself from view
Striking a dark tile
Taking the shade as it's own
A tiny piece of coal
May not be beautiful
But easier to hold
Crystaline perfection
Beneath a silent shell
The diamond fell
Then turned to coal
With obsidian heart
And shadowed soul

:)

Thanks for the responses ;), sorry I'm not more prolific in posting scribes, but life tends to keep me busy.

Anyway :), good that you saw the symbolism, but I suppose thats expected from a group who gets jaded with some of the amazing poetry around here. Keep the pen moving everyone. I'm just glad to have found many of you again.
