I received this email today from the Harvest is Ready... and I wanted to share it with you all in hopes that it may give you peace as much as it did me...

In Our Sorrow ...
At this tragic time in our nation's history, 'Harvest is Ready' continues to send prayers
to all those injured and to the loved ones of those killed in last Tuesday's
cowardly attacks on our country.

As we start to build and send our military forces ... Infinite Justice ...
Pray for a hedge of protection, for the Mighty Hand of God to be
placed on our forces, and our allies.
We need to lift up all of the family and friends left behind.
Pray for God to place a hedge of protection around our country.
Pray for the enemy's hearts to soften and for them to see our forces as light
into their darkness.
Pray for our forces to show compassion when it is warranted.
Pray for a mighty revival in our country and in our enemies countries
for God's savings grace and sacrifices of His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ,
to be recognized as the one true triune God.

"When a strong [man], fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are
undisturbed. But when someone stronger than he attacks him and overpowers
him, he takes away from him all his armor on which he had relied and distributes
his plunder. 'He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather
with Me, scatters.'" - - Luke 11:21-23

I believe that President Bush had this scripture in mind when he said last night
"Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." We are a nation united.
Our President has spoken and has drawn the line in the sand.
He stated that:
"prayer has comforted us in sorrow and will strengthen us for the road ahead."

WE NEED TO PRAY!!!
We need to deligently be on our knees in prayer and fasting for our leaders to
consult God always.
Pray for our new cabinet created with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge
as the leader of the Head Office of Homeland Security.
Pray for the 19 nations that have joined forces with the United States, that through
our witness, they will come to know the LORD.
Pray for all nations to come to a love of our LORD.
Pray for our enemies to come to know Jesus and most of all pray for OUR TROOPS
and the young men and women that go forth in battle, that they go with a faith
in Jesus Christ as their Savior.

"We will not tire,
we will not falter,
and we will not fail."
As President Bush stated we too should not tire, falter or fail in our covenant
to pray the entire time this war is waged.
Christians, unite in prayer for peace!

We continue to thank and pray for the brave emergency workers
who risked and, in some cases, have lost their lives in helping others.

We know you join us in sending prayers and support to our leaders
as they respond to this unprecedented attack on the
United States of America.

We are called to "love your enemies and pray for those who
persecute you." -- Matthew 5:44.

We are also told to "hate what is evil." -- Romans 12:9.

Terrorism is evil - and I hate it! I have forgiven the terrorists and
will pray for God to reveal Jesus to those who still remain. At the
same time, I support all actions necessary to bring these terrorists to
justice. However, as we seek justice, we must abandon all thoughts of
vengeance.

"Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in
the eyes of everybody. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room
for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,
says the Lord.'" -- Romans 12:17,19

Certain actions and consequences are necessary to maintain a civil
society, but not for the purpose of satisfying our anger.
God is still on the throne and He will bring eternal judgement.

Our responsibility is to be Jesus' ambassador
-- II Corinthians 5:20 and bring the message of the gospel
to a lost world through ALL we do.

Think About It
How do strong families provide stability for a nation?
Did my parents teach me about Christ?
How can I be a godly influence in my family?
My nation? In this hour of need! ...

Harvest is Ready -- September 21, 2001

Stand Together

Acts 10:1-8

Cornelius [was] a devout man and one who feared God with all his household. --Acts 10:1-2

A prominent senator was dropped from the "Green Book"--the list of Washington societal elite who are invited to special functions. Why? Because he never attended the events. Instead, he went home each night to be with his family.

Then he discovered he had cancer. A difficult career choice faced him. The night before he announced his decision not to run for office again, he said to his wife, "You know, the only thing I'll probably ever be remembered for is that I loved my wife." To which she replied, "And what's wrong with that?"

Families that are built on love, respect, and togetherness instead of social climbing or the pursuit of successful careers are a nation's hope for survival. And when their values reflect a love for Jesus Christ, they hold a special place in God's plan for the world.

Cornelius was a Roman soldier who feared God even before he came to know Christ. God used him to spread the gospel to the Gentiles -- Acts 10:24-48. Rome could have used more families like his.

God-fearing families provide stability to individuals and nations when adversity strikes. And there's everything right about that.

Think About It
How do strong families provide stability for a nation?
Did my parents teach me about Christ?
How can I be a godly influence in my family?
My nation? In this hour of need! ...

Close your devotional time by meditating on this thought:
A nation is only as strong its families.

"The Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man."

IT'S IN THE VALLEYS I GROW
http://www.grnco.net/~cbm/thought.htm

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It's then I have to remember
That it's in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow!

Have a blessed day!

REMEMBER...
The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is
the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who
kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything

If your problem is bigger than your GOD, then you are serving the wrong god
... remember that knees that bend don't shake!
~ Dr. P. L. Williams

Our thoughts and prayers go to the victims of these recent tragedies, as well as
their families and friends.

God Bless America!
<http://www.ishaah.com/America0911.htm>
The hallmark of America is our ability to continue to press on in times of adversity and tragedy with faith and the resolve that out of our challenges will come our triumphs.

Our finest triumph is the triumph of the American spirit that leads us individually to step forward with prayers, compassion and assistance in times of need. Our history is witness to this.

May God bless our America and sustain our spirit.

Please pray for everyone,
and let's never forget
our freedom is not free!!!

Pray for Others:
<http://www.dailyguideposts.com/prayer/>

"We, as followers of Jesus, are sent into this world
to be visible signs of God's unconditional love.
Thus we are not first of all judged
by what we say but by what we live."

Love One Another
Stand Together
Fight this war, no matter the cost
Pray for our children
Turn our hearts toward heaven
Seek to be one nation under God.

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall';
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
-- Isaiah 40:29-31

themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their
wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive
their sin and will heal their land." -- II Chronicles 7:14
