We don’t know each other very well
We’ve only seen one another around,
Maybe heard words said about each other
But never have we been together like this
You make me feel so comfortable, so vulnerable
And though your consistence is rough
There’s a sort of gentleness to your touch
    I should remind you that
My mind says I’m behind you
In all of what you want me to be a part of
But my heart is speechless with a weakness
That conveys my need to stay, remember
I’ve never done anything like this before
    Never been quite so open
    Never been quite so sure
That I’d let you lead me
Into a place that frees me
    I’m afraid, but it’s a good afraid
    An awareness
That I might just get the hang of this
Out of the abyss and into loveliness
    I admit I am nervous
But this has always been a part
    Of my ongoing wish-list
    People always talk bigness
Until the situation is laid out with boldness
And opportunity is too easy to grasp
Arriving so quickly, too unexpected, way too fast
    Then they become fearful
    Emotionally hesitating this greener grass
    This other side
    This other stride
We collide and haven’t even met yet
We just know about each other
We never took long walks, had nice talks
I never was the kind to hang in social flocks
    But you noticed me anyway
We never spent nights gazing into the sky’s sockets of light
    But you noticed me anyway
I never was the first to speak
    The loudest to preach
    The wisest to teach or
    The most interesting to meet
    But you noticed me anyway
    When you saw me hurting
    You saw me period
    When you saw me yearning
    You saw me period
    When you felt me dreaming
    You healed me period
When I wanted to give up on life
    And you felt me leaving
You held onto me tightly, so tight that I was numbed
In knowing you was trying to get in touch with me
I’ve never been treated like this before
Never felt so special, never stood on that top floor
Knowing hopes brought what is occasional
But permanence somehow shows, flows and sings
Through this new water spring of your presence
    So many things can constitute
The sturdiness of my roots or
How our giving in is different from prostitutes
    We mix so wonderfully
Me your solvent, you the solute
And I salute our silence taken before we knew each other
Because now our voices cannot be mute
You want me to be a part of you
I’m willing to take that vow
    Take it now, that oath
    That large step
    The power of growth
    You watched me from afar
But knew who I was close up
You saw me outside, but knew the excursion of my inside version
Debating which time was the right time
To show up, to give up unto me
    The treats you’ve held
That which you’ve preserved so well, so patiently
I want you to take me, Destiny
Take me in your arms and guide me
    Confide in me Destiny
    Glide with me Destiny
Be wide with me Destiny, hand me your density
For you are one of the genuine things
That has never lied to me, please guide me fully
    I’m afraid but only because
I don’t know how change will play or
How the aftermath will sway or
    How tomorrow will become today
Because God created you and I’m new to this
I’m new to just surrendering myself to something like you
I was always used to walking because I had to
But I’m new to this type of traveling in freedom
Just because I‘m new, please don’t misconstrue the truth
Don’t underestimate as I want to participate
That I am now truly READY to be viewed
    Ready to be released
Into the north, south, west and east, into peace
Take me there, I swear my destiny
    I won’t let you down
    Just please be gentle
    My humanity is fragile
But let me first tell you, before we start
I love you Destiny, you test and manifest within me
Now please make your sweet, sweet love
    Within and throughout my heart
