life has lost you in its shuffle
    you're exhausted from the struggle
longing for a your soul's oasis
you search for love in all the wrong places

    fierce emotions swell and rage
during sleepless nights and lonely days
    passionate eyes no longer glow
smothered in tears that endlessly flow

your mind is inundated with questions
but silent voices can’t engage in discussion
    the uncertainty is intoxicating
    drunken souls fear communicating

    too emotional to ask yourself
why don't I have someone else
running from what the answer holds
you forsake the truths that liberates the soul

love begins with the courageous step
    of looking deep within yourself
and dealing with all the things you find
defining yourself one day at a time

so much summed up in the last stanza...

"love begins with the courageous step
    of looking deep within yourself
and dealing with all the things you find
defining yourself one day at a time"

the last line is something deep in my heart...understanding that TODAY may be your last day...i've learned to appreciate the moment...to live for the minute...to understand that life isn't about the DRAMA that we place so much emphasis on.

defining yourself one day at a time.

    THANKS for this PEACE, NittyGrit.
